The Kindle Workshop
October 1-3, 2019
We are excited to announce the Kindle Workshop #3!
The Kindle Workshop is a three-day hands on collaborative learning experience hosted by Ang McCabe and Nicole Ashley. Both artists have spoken at conferences worldwide and have over 20+ years of combined professional photography experience. They have been recognized as inspiring leaders within the photography industry and are passionate about educating and motivating other artists to push the boundaries of their art and take their business to the next level. After two successful Kindle Workshops in 2018, Ang and Nicole are excited for all the have planned this fall including having a guest speaker — an up and coming artist who has taken this industry by storm!
Taking place in Ang’s hometown, this three day workshop will be held on a beautiful property just 12kms from downtown Victoria, BC — the Horticulture Center of the Pacific (the Gardens at HCP). The classroom style education will take place in the pavilion, and the styled sessions put together by Victoria’s most sought after wedding vendors will be set up throughout the gardens. They are thrilled to have a guest speaker who will be present throughout the duration of the workshop where they will have a featured presentation as well as provide hands-on learning during the styled sessions. Stay tuned for their exciting reveal!

What should I bring?
Please bring a notebook or laptop for taking notes as well as a DSLR camera and lenses. You will be shooting alongside Nicole and Ang, so anything you would bring to a regular photoshoot (but scaled down) would be a good idea.
What is your refund policy?
Payments are non-refundable but are transferable should you find someone to take your spot.
Can I use the images from the styled sessions in my portfolio?
Yes! We are curating amazing styled shoots for you to use in your own portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase fresh work or perhaps break into an area you have yet to shoot (couples boudoir or weddings). We will be demonstrating how we approach our sessions and then will be there to help you with live shoots. We will ask attendees to credit the workshop and vendors when sharing images (images may be used for personal use but cannot be entered into photography contests).
Are accommodations included?
Accommodations are not included, however, there is a hotel just a few minutes from the property (Howard Johnson Hotel and Suites Victoria Elk Lake) as well as Air BnBs nearby (search near Royal Oak or Elk Lake). You can also post in our Facebook group if you are looking for a roommate and/or carpool buddy.
It is recommended to rent a car and/or find a carpool buddy. Taxis and public transport are also an option.
What is the weather like in Victoria, BC that time of year?
The average temperature in Victoria in October is 14-18 degrees C (57-65 F) but bringing layers is encouraged. We are anticipating and hoping for sunny weather, but the west coast can be unpredictable. The classroom education will be indoors and we have back up plans in place for our outdoor sessions should we come into some weather complications.
We hope to see you!
